Glider ropes feature our Twill Pattern Technology, a unique twill sheath design resulting in a smoother cover that reduces drag
This gives the feeling of lighter weight as you pull the rope through protection on sport routes. What really separates the Glider from other climbing ropes is the supple feel, easy clips, and superior hand feel. Glider excels at day-to-day single pitch cragging, particularly on sharp rock that can chew up ropes.
It is incredibly durable, making it a great choice for people or groups looking for a rope that will last a long time and hold up to abuse while sport or trad climbing. Endura STD-DRY water-repellent coating applied to the core of all Glider models. Endura 2x-DRY water-repellent coating applied to the cover of specific Glider models.
During COVID, I set up a short wall on a tree in my back yard. 15-20 foot high. My 7 year old likes to climb, gyms were closed and I am not taking her anywhere solo, due to a lack of experience in setting ropes and that just being an inherently ****** idea. Anyway, I needed a short (50 foot) rope that I could run through a top setup so she could practice, and so I didn’t have to take a kid falling from higher than they should’ve to the hospital. I did not want to buy 100-200 feet of rope from Petzl, because I did not need that much, but I also don’t want to be cheap and get the bargain basement rope. Equipment failure is a real thing. I purchased this rope and it has met and exceeded all of my expectations. Showed up fast, water resistant, feed is awesome through my ancient ATC. Now that the rock gyms have opened up I remember how slow 11mm ropes are and why I went with 10. Seriously, cannot recommend this stuff enough.
