FILE FORM
[Previous][Main][Next]

Use the File Form for historical data viewing and parsing. Parsing a file is separating the datetime and data in each row and placing the data in the setup grids. It then updates the display forms. It can parse a file very quickly with all the results being entered into the result grid and on the forms.

The file form is used to view historical data that is saved on your hard disk. You can load a file and then parse it into the main program. If you reset your data, the maximums, minimums, etc will be calculated for this data set.

The file form is where historical data is loaded from a file or loaded from a rtu. When data is transfered from the memory of the rtu, this form shows the results of the memory transfer.
The data can then be parsed into the program to calculate the maximums, minimums, averages. etc.
The rtu number selected will only matter if you are using more than one rtu. If you have rtu 2 connected to your computer, select number 2 in this window. Then data from rtu 2 will update the setup grid sensors that are defined for rtu 2.

The edit menu allows you to copy or select all text, clear the memo, change the font and background color and select the Parsing Preferences.

Parsing Preferences

Parsing preferences are used when the memory of the rtu is used after monitoring in real time. The parsing preferences normally reset all data summarys and trends. Then an accurate summary is created from the new data.

Set Parsing Constants

Set Start, Stop, Reset commands and Parsing character.
If multiple RTU devices are in your system and they can send their number as the first string, then check the Parse RTU Number First.
